A Day in the Life of a Salters Events Wedding Planner
Being a wedding planner at Salters Events means carrying the immense responsibility of making someone's wedding day perfect. This role demands meticulous planning, a calm demeanour, and the ability to handle pressure gracefully.
A Unique Experience Every Day
No two days are the same in wedding planning. Each wedding is a bespoke experience, tailored to reflect the couple's personality through the venue, styling, themes, and food. As your wedding planner, I become your confidant, available via WhatsApp at any hour. With expertise in both catering and planning, we orchestrate your dream wedding, transforming your vision into a memorable reality.
Daily Routine of a Wedding Planner
A typical day involves a mix of office work and events or tastings. My irregular schedule includes many weekends, adding variety to my routine. Weekly tasks range from site visits and menu development to styling sessions and organizing spectacular parties. While admin duties and coffee breaks are part of the job, the more dynamic aspects of planning are far more captivating.
The Art of Table Styling
One of the most creative facets of my job is styling the tables. This process is intricate and time-consuming, tailored to each couple’s unique vision, often inspired by their Pinterest boards filled with vibrant ideas. A particularly memorable wedding was a summer bank holiday celebration for a young couple who desired a riot of colour throughout their event. From vivid floral arrangements to jewel-toned bridesmaid dresses and a seasonal three-course sharing menu, the day was a stunning spectacle of hues. A cheese tower served as their "wedding cake," adding a delightful twist. Although it wasn’t the largest wedding I've planned, it was incredibly fun and resulted in a truly magical atmosphere.
Designing the Perfect Menu
Collaborating with the chef team at Salters Events to design bespoke menus for each couple is another highlight. Tastings are enjoyable sessions where we finalize details like canapés, setting the stage for a perfect wedding reception. Seeing the space come together, with champagne flowing and the radiant couple making their grand entrance, is incredibly fulfilling. One particularly touching moment was when a groom’s brother sang during the ceremony, leaving everyone, including me, deeply moved.
The Importance of Planning and Details
Success in wedding planning hinges on thorough preparation and attention to detail. Exceptional organizational skills, strict adherence to timelines, and seamless coordination with on-site teams are essential. We partner with experienced suppliers, ensuring no room for error. Despite unpredictable weather, last-minute guest allergies, or late flower deliveries, we remain adaptable and responsive. The job demands long hours and results in sore feet, but the friendships forged and the joy created make it incredibly rewarding. Whilst I might not look like J-Lo in the movies, being a wedding planner is a truly gratifying profession.
